The trip was initiated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in cooperation with the Protez Foundation.
Ten students from MIA security lyceums — winners of academic competitions, sports contests, and other challenges from across Ukraine — are taking part in the project, including three representatives from the Dnipro Lyceum named after Oleksandr HOSTISHCHEV.
The journey is organized within the framework of the international educational and cultural initiative “Leadership, Patriotism, Security: Ukraine–USA” (L.P.S: Ukraine–U.S.A). Over the course of several weeks, participants will become acquainted with the operational systems of American police departments, emergency services, the National Guard, as well as the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of the United States government.
According to Oleksandr TARASENKO, Director of the Department of Education, Science, and Sports at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, experts worked on organizing the visit for about four months. He expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in the project and emphasized that this trip presents a unique opportunity for Ukrainian lyceum students to see how U.S. security agencies operate and to gain inspiration for their own growth.
Organizers highlight that in addition to professional and thematic excursions, participants will also have the opportunity to immerse themselves in American culture, traditions, and values. At the same time, lyceum students will present Ukrainian culture, engage in intercultural exchange, and demonstrate their leadership qualities.
The students admit that they do not view their participation in the project as a vacation, but rather as a responsible mission — to represent their country and educational institutions on the international stage, to explore the best global practices, and to return with new ideas for Ukraine.
