Ukrainian is the state language of Ukraine and the national language of Ukrainians. It is an essential component of every nation and plays a significant role in the development of the national identity of individuals and in shaping the worldview of the younger generation. It is the duty of every person to know and preserve their native language, as it reflects and records the deepest roots of a nation’s consciousness and mentality, encodes folk wisdom and ancient knowledge.

   In accordance with the laws of Ukraine “On Education”, “On Ensuring the Functioning of the Ukrainian Language as the State Language”, the language of the educational process in educational institutions is the state language. Pedagogical staff and educators are obliged to instill in students respect for the state language and the state symbols of Ukraine, national, historical, and cultural values of Ukraine, and a careful attitude toward Ukraine’s historical and cultural heritage, etc. All employees of educational institutions must be proficient in the state language and use it in the performance of their official duties.

   At Dnipro Lyceum of Security Orientation and National-Patriotic Education named after Oleksandr Hostishchev under Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, the requirements of the laws of Ukraine “On Education”, “On Ensuring the Functioning of the Ukrainian Language as the State Language” are observed. The educational process there is conducted in the Ukrainian language (Clause 1.7 of the Regulations on Dnipro Lyceum of Security Orientation and National-Patriotic Education under Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs). The state language is the working language of communication and is used by all participants in the educational process and other staff.
