Dnipro Lyceum of Security Orientation and National-Patriotic Education named after Oleksandr Hostishchev

The lyceum is an institution of specialized education that provides profile secondary education, fosters a high level of patriotic consciousness in the younger generation, ensures the comprehensive and harmonious development of the individual, instills respect for the law, and prepares students for service to the Ukrainian people.

   Education and its national-patriotic component are an integral part of the educational process in the Lyceum, which is based on universal human values, the cultural values of the Ukrainian people, the values of a civil (free democratic) society, the principles of the rule of law, respect for human and citizen rights and freedoms, as well as the principles defined by the Laws of Ukraine “On Education,” “On Complete General Secondary Education,” and aimed at forming:

  • responsible and honest citizens capable of making conscious societal choices and directing their activities for the benefit of others and society;
  • respect for the dignity, rights, freedoms, and legitimate interests of individuals and citizens;
  • intolerance of humiliation of human honor and dignity, physical or psychological violence, as well as discrimination on any grounds;
  • patriotism, respect for the state language and state symbols of Ukraine, respect and careful attitude toward national, historical, and cultural values, the intangible cultural heritage of the Ukrainian people, and the conscious duty to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine if necessary;
  • a conscious need to adhere to the Constitution and laws of Ukraine, intolerance of their violation, manifestations of corruption, and breaches of academic integrity;
  • civic culture and the culture of democracy;
  • a culture and skills of a healthy lifestyle, environmental awareness, and a careful attitude toward the environment;
  • a desire to promote trust, mutual understanding, peace, and harmony among all peoples, ethnic, national, and religious groups;
  • feelings of kindness, compassion, tolerance, care, fairness, respectful attitude toward family, and responsibility for one’s actions;
  • a culture of freedom and self-discipline, responsibility for one’s life, courage, and the realization of creative potential as integral components of personal development.

LYCEUM STUDENTS ARE:

  • DEFENDERS - those who are devoted to their Motherland, convictions, and live by the calling to protect, defend, guard, and help individuals, society, and nature; they are well physically prepared.
  • PATRIOTS - those who respect their parents, lineage, traditions, and the history of their native people; they are aware of their belonging as representatives, heirs, and successors of their nation; they love their Motherland and are loyal to their people.Bearers of Ukrainian history, traditions, language, and culture -those who respect Ukrainian history, remember state and national holidays, and honor national heroes; they use the Ukrainian language correctly and cultivate Ukrainian traditions, customs, and practices.
  • PERSONALITIES WITH SPIRITUAL FULFILLMENT - those who have a developed value system, including humanity, kindness, sincerity, openness, selflessness, and gratitude, EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITY (disciplined, active, hardworking, diligent, careful),and FAIRNESS (truthful, empathetic, honest, decent, modest, with a sense of self-worth).
