Students of the lyceum took part in an international program in the Republic of Latvia. The trip was organized on the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia, the Latvian association "Mini-Pitch," and the Riga City Council.
Fifteen cadets from the Dnipro Lyceum named after O. HOSTISHCHEV participated in the trip, accompanied by Natalia KARNAUKH, Police Lieutenant Colonel and Head of the Social and Humanitarian Work Department of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA), and Natalia SHYNKARENKO, practical psychologist of the lyceum.
The program included cultural, educational, and informative events. The cadets visited notable historical and cultural sites of Latvia: the historic center of Riga, the cities of Jurmala and Turaida, Sigulda Castle, the Latvian Ethnographic Museum, and the Riga Motor Museum. An interactive quest was held at the Turaida Museum Reserve, along with a masterclass in Latvian cuisine.
Special attention was given to sports and youth activities: a hike along the Great Kemeri Bog Trail, sports orienteering, a talent show, and participation in the youth organization “Spirit of Adventure.”
As part of the official program, meetings were held with representatives of the Riga City Council, the board of the Latvian “Mini-Pitch” association, and the Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia. These representatives expressed their willingness to continue cooperation in organizing recreational programs for children whose parents are involved in the defense of Ukraine’s independence.
Following the trip, participants will share their experiences through a series of educational sessions for DSUIA students. These sessions will focus on learning about Latvian cultural features, principles of international youth cooperation, and the development of civic responsibility.
