Lyceum pupils met with a representative of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

With pupils of Dnipro Lyceum of Security Orientation and National-Patriotic Education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after O. Hostishchev met the head of the department of preparation and organisation of firefighting of the emergency response directorate, major of civil protection service Andrii CHAIKO.
Andrii CHAIKO presented the structure of the State Emergency Service, which includes territorial units, operational-coordination centres, communication and information technology centres, as well as special aviation detachments. With pupils discussed the main tasks of the service: elimination of consequences of fires, natural and man-made disasters, conducting search-and-rescue operations, providing first aid and aviation support.
The speaker emphasized that today the service works in enhanced mode, quickly reacting to threats in wartime conditions. Thus, the State Emergency Service carries out demining measures, rescue of victims, delivers humanitarian cargoes and ensures the life activity of the population.


Andrii CHAIKO told lyceum pupils about real rescue operations, interaction with colleagues from different regions and daily challenges of rescuers. Drew attention to the introduction of newest technologies – firefighting robots, drones, underwater demining means.
At the end reminded pupils about the necessity of strict observance of safety rules during air alarms and the importance of staying in shelter.

According to higher education applicants, the meeting gave a thorough idea about the daily work of the State Emergency Service, its structure and modern capabilities. Lyceum pupils came to the conclusion that the profession of rescuer requires endurance, courage and a high level of preparation, and their work is extremely important in modern challenges.

A practical and theoretical course on providing pre-medical assistance in combat conditions has begun at the Dnipro Security and National-Patriotic Education Lyceum named after O. Hostishchev.

The event was held within the framework of the All-Ukrainian campaign «16 Days Against Violence» organized by psychologists of the lyceum.
