Police officers shared insights on motivation, their experience in evacuation operations, and answered the lyceum students' questions.
The meeting was attended by students of the Dnipro Lyceum of Security Orientation and National-Patriotic Education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after O. Hostishchev, as well as cadets and students of DSUIA. The rector of the university, Police Colonel Oleksandr Morgunov, also joined the event.
The head of the "White Angel" unit of the National Police Main Directorate in Donetsk region, Police Major Hennadii Yudin, spoke about the history of the evacuation groups, the process of forming a police team, and the daily activities of the unit.
The special police unit "White Angels" has been carrying out humanitarian missions in frontline areas since December 2022. Police officers have evacuated over 10,000 civilians, as well as animals, and delivered tons of humanitarian aid. The unit's name originated during the evacuation of residents from Mariinka, as the officers used a white-colored vehicle.
Law enforcement officers shared their experience in conducting evacuations, particularly in transporting people with disabilities, and demonstrated the use of specially equipped evacuation vehicles designed primarily for providing pre-medical assistance. Participants also watched video materials showcasing evacuation operations from frontline cities.
The attendees actively asked questions, showing interest in the specifics of evacuation procedures and the daily motivation of police officers.
At the end of the meeting, representatives of the "White Angel" unit presented the university with a flag, a children's bulletproof vest, and toys used for psychological support of children during evacuations.
In response, DSUIA representatives handed the police officers GoPro cameras for recording their activities, a painting symbolizing the "White Angels," and the university's flag with their best wishes.
