The run brought together lyceum students, their mentors, as well as the leadership of DSUIA, cadets, and university students.
As part of the events dedicated to the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, students and mentors of the Dnipro Lyceum of Security and National-Patriotic Education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after O. Hostishchev, along with students, lecturers, and administration of the Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, participated in a symbolic athletic run.
Representatives from all structural units of the institution joined the initiative. Among them were DSUIA Vice-Rector, Police Lieutenant Colonel Ihor Kovaliov; Deputy Director for Educational Work of the Dnipro Lyceum of Security and National-Patriotic Education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after O. The run became not only a test of agility, endurance, and general physical fitness for each participant but also a demonstration of unity, cohesion, and strong team spirit. Such events are an integral part of the university’s sports culture, aimed at promoting an active lifestyle among its students.
The International Day of Sport for Development and Peace was established in 2013 by the United Nations in cooperation with the International Olympic Committee. The date was not chosen at random, as it marks the opening of the first modern Olympic Games in Athens on April 6, 1896.
