Anti-Bullying Week was held at the Dnipro Lyceum for Security and National-Patriotic Education named after Oleksandr Hostishchev of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. The initiative was aimed at fostering a safe educational environment and developing a culture of mutual respect.
Throughout the week, psychological and practical sessions were held for first- and second-year lyceum students. During these sessions, participants discussed the causes and manifestations of bullying, learned to distinguish between a conflict and systematic bullying, identified safe models of behaviour, and practised action plans for situations in which a person becomes a victim, a witness, or a participant in a conflict.

Particular attention during the sessions was given to developing skills that help prevent bullying: mutual respect, empathy, responsibility, tolerance, the ability to listen to and understand others, resolve conflicts constructively, and seek help in difficult situations.
The practical component of the sessions enabled lyceum students to apply the knowledge they gained through team exercises. Completing tasks together demonstrated the importance of communication, cooperation, support, and each participant’s contribution to achieving a common goal.

An important part of Anti-Bullying Week was the “Kindness Hands” initiative. During breaks, lyceum students passed a symbolic hand-shaped card to one another along with words of support, gratitude, respect, and kind wishes. This created a chain of kindness that brought participants together around a simple yet important idea: everyone has the right to respect, support, and a safe environment.

The activities helped lyceum students not only deepen their understanding of bullying but also recognise their own role in preventing it. After all, a safe educational environment is built every day — through our attitude towards others, our willingness to support, our responsibility for our words and actions, and our awareness of what is happening around us.

The Dnipro Lyceum for Security and National-Patriotic Education named after Oleksandr Hostishchev of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine held a practical meeting with representatives of the Special Police Battalion of the National Police of Ukraine.
