Representatives of the Dnipro Lyceum of Security and National-Patriotic Education named after O. Hostishchev took part in the roundtable discussion "Specialized Education in MIA Lyceums: Path to Quality and Efficiency.

The event featured State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (MIA) Inna YASHCHUK, Director of the Department of Education, Science, and Sports of the MIA Oleksandr TARASENKO, rector of the National Academy of Internal Affairs Ruslan SERBIN, and representatives of the Swiss-Ukrainian DECIDE project, along with directors and deputy directors of various lyceums.

The Dnipro Lyceum was represented by Director Kyrylo NEDRIA and Deputy Director Svitlana MOZHOVA.

State Secretary Inna YASHCHUK emphasized that since the start of the full-scale invasion, all MIA educational institutions have continued operations without interruption, rapidly adapting to wartime conditions. She highlighted the establishment of security-oriented and national-patriotic lyceums under the MIA in 2023. These lyceums aim to support the families of Ukraine’s heroes and educate a new generation of patriotic youth. Currently, five lyceums host 465 students from privileged categories, fully funded by the state.

Larysa ZHABENKO, coordinator of the Swiss-Ukrainian DECIDE project, outlined key challenges, prospects, and reforms in Ukraine’s specialized secondary education. DECIDE is implemented by the DOCCU NGO in partnership with the Zurich University of Teacher Education (Switzerland), supported by the Swiss Confederation through the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine. The project focuses on educational reform and decentralization in Ukraine.

The roundtable served as an excellent platform for exchange of ideas and initiatives to further develop and enhance security-oriented and national-patriotic education in MIA lyceums.
