Within the summer field camp, the lyceum students visited the training ground of the underwater demining unit and other special operations of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU).

During the visit, SESU specialists introduced the participants to the specifics of the unit’s work and its tasks, and demonstrated modern equipment used for surveying water bodies and neutralizing explosive objects.
The students learned about the main stages of underwater demining, the specifics of detecting hazardous objects on the bottom of water reservoirs, and the rules of safe behavior near water areas during wartime conditions. SESU representatives emphasized the importance of safety compliance and the algorithm of actions in case suspicious objects are discovered.

Particular interest among the students was sparked by their introduction to specialized equipment and gear. All willing participants had the opportunity to try on elements of diving equipment, examine technical tools used in operational tasks, and communicate with rescuers about the specifics of their work.

Special attention was given to the demonstration of underwater drones. The students were informed about the capabilities of unmanned systems for surveying water areas, searching for hazardous objects, and conducting underwater special operations.
The day concluded with a boat ride along the Dnipro River. The excursion allowed the students not only to expand their knowledge of rescue operations but also to gain a deeper understanding of professions related to public safety, environmental protection, and the response to the consequences of wartime threats.
