The Dnipro Lyceum of Security Orientation and National-Patriotic Education named after Oleksandr Hostishchev of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine held ceremonies on the occasion of Knowledge Day and the beginning of the new academic year.

This year, 50 first-year students joined the lyceum family. For them, this day marked the beginning of a new stage of study at an institution where, along with quality education, discipline, responsibility, patriotism, and a willingness to serve Ukrainian society are of particular importance. The ceremony began with the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine. Those present observed a minute of silence in memory of the defenders of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom, independence, and future of our state.

An important part of the event was the laying of flowers at the memorial plaque of the Hero of Ukraine Oleksandr Gostishchev, whose name the lyceum bears. The memory of the Hero is an integral part of the lyceum tradition and a reminder to the younger generation of the value of courage, honor, and devotion to Ukraine.

On behalf of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ivan Vyhovsky, the lyceum students and staff were congratulated by Bohdan Drapiaty, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Representatives of the Central Educational Service also took part in the celebrations.

A special moment for the freshmen was the presentation of the lyceum chevrons. From now on, 50 young men and women are part of a large lyceum community united by common values, traditions, and responsibility.

The solemn part of the event ended with the performance of the Lyceum Anthem. For the first-year students, this became a symbolic moment of entering a new community and the beginning of their lyceum journey.

Ahead of the lyceum students is an academic year full of new knowledge, challenges, achievements, and important discoveries. And the main guidelines for them remain honor, dignity, responsibility, and love for Ukraine.
