In Dnipro, commemorative events took place on the second anniversary of the death of Police Lieutenant Colonel Oleksandr HOSTISHCHEV. He gave his life saving people during a Russian missile attack.

Pupils of the Dnipro Lyceum of Security Orientation and National-Patriotic Education of the MIA, together with the institution’s administration, the Hero’s family, his comrades-in-arms and representatives of law enforcement agencies, visited the Krasnopilske Cemetery in Dnipro. Those present laid flowers at the officer’s grave and honored his memory with a minute of silence.



Oleksandr HOSTISHCHEV was born on February 19, 1983, in Dnipro. He was the commander of the assault regiment “Tsunami” of the “Liut” brigade of the National Police of Ukraine. On March 15, 2024, the officer was killed during a Russian missile attack on Odesa while saving people. For personal courage and bravery, he was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky II degree.


The name of Oleksandr HOSTISHCHEV is borne by the Dnipro Lyceum of Security Orientation and National-Patriotic Education. The corresponding order was signed by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor KLYMENKO on November 28, 2024.

For the lyceum pupils, the figure of the Hero is an example of devoted service to the state, courage and responsibility before the Ukrainian people. The commemorative events became an opportunity to once again express gratitude to the fallen officer and reminded the young generation of the price of freedom and independence of Ukraine.
