The event took place within the framework of the meeting-dialogue “Sport. Resilience. Leadership”.

At the beginning of the meeting, all those present honored the memory of the fallen defenders with a minute of silence.

The event was opened by the Acting Rector of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs Ihor MAHDALINA.

With a welcoming speech to those present, the moderator of the event, Assistant to the Rector of DSUIA on Gender Issues, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine Larysa NALYVAIKO addressed. Together with her, the meeting was led by the Head of the Department of Culture and Sports of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, Head of the “Women in Sports” Commission of the Regional Branch of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Liliia HYRENKO.

About his activities in sports and public life, the participants of the meeting were told by Serhii RYZHENKO - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Honored Doctor of Ukraine, General Director of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Mechnikov Hospital - the main medical hub of the region, Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Separate Subdivision of the Public Organization “Shooting Federation of Ukraine”.

Also, Serhii RYZHENKO expressed gratitude to all donors of DSUIA for their active participation in blood donation, which they carry out on the basis of the Mechnikov Hospital, and presented the corresponding thanks to Ihor MAHDALINA.

About coaching work, Dina MIFTAKHUTDINOVA, Olympic Games prize-winner, member of the NOC of Ukraine, coach of Olympic champions, Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine, Candidate of Sciences in Physical Education and Sports, Director of the Regional Olympic Training Center, as well as Oleksii VYLYVANYI, Honored Coach of Ukraine, Senior Coach-Instructor of the Bullet Shooting Department at Kryvyi Rih Sports School No. 7 and the Regional Olympic Training Center, coach of winners and prize-winners of Championships and Cups of Ukraine, Europe and the World in bullet shooting, told. Oleksii VYLYVANYI is currently an active serviceman.


In addition, cadets and lyceum students were able to communicate with Vilena BEVZ, member of the national team of Ukraine in bullet shooting, multiple winner and prize-winner of Championships and Cups of Ukraine 2021–2025, silver medalist in the team at the European Championship, bronze medalist in the team at the World Championship among juniors in 2021, silver medalist in the team and bronze individually among juniors at the European Championship and participant of the 2022 World Championship, silver medalist at the European Championship among juniors in 2023, winner and silver medalist at the 2024 European Championship, participant of the 2025 World Cup, bronze medalist at the European Championship;


With Maksym HIMON - Master of Sports of Ukraine of international class, multiple winner and prize-winner of Championships and Cups of Ukraine 2024–2026, silver medalist at the 2024 World Championship among juniors, silver and bronze medalist at the 2025 European Championship among juniors, silver medalist at the 2025 World Cup among juniors, silver medalist in the team standings at the European Championship with pneumatic weapons;
With Viktoriya RYBOVALOVA - member of the national team of Ukraine in bullet shooting, multiple winner and prize-winner of Championships and Cups of Ukraine 2018–2025, 2022 World Champion in the team, 2023 World Champion and silver medalist in the team, 2024 and 2025 European Champion and silver medalist individually and in the team, three-time 2026 European Champion with pneumatic weapons.


Those present learned about the sports path of the meeting participants and what exactly inspires them to continue their sports career and improve their skills.


Such events contribute to the formation among cadets and lyceum students of motivation for sports, the upbringing of leadership qualities, discipline and willpower, as well as the strengthening of the connection between education, sports and patriotic education of future defenders of Ukraine.

During the event, National Guard servicemen spoke about the key tasks performed by NGU personnel, shared practical service experience and demonstrated technical equipment used in their daily activities.

The training was conducted by an instructor of the Recruiting Center of the 12th Special Purpose Brigade “Azov” of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine, call sign “KHIMIK.”
