The solemn event took place on May 23 to mark Ukraine’s Heroes’ Day.
The event brought together higher education students, lyceum students, academic staff, and guests.
Assistant Rector Volodymyr KOVBASA addressed the Heroes with words of respect and gratitude. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of preserving the memory of those who defended Ukraine’s independence throughout history.
Honored guests included officers from the “East” Air Command, servicemen from Military Unit A2533, and combat veterans, among them Colonel Kostiantyn KHOMYAK, Head of Armament of Military Unit A2533; Colonel Roman KAMYSHENKOV, Head of the Anti-Aircraft Defense Training Department of Military Unit A2533; and Hero of Ukraine, Lieutenant Colonel Andriy KRUGLOV, Senior Officer of the Anti-Aircraft Defense Training Department of Military Unit A2533. They shared their personal experiences with the youth and answered students’ questions.
A DSUIA flag was presented to the Heroes of Ukraine as a symbol of deep respect and unity, serving as a reminder of the support and gratitude from the entire university community.
The event concluded emotionally with performances by the university community, including the song “Burn, Burn, My Candle” and the vocal-choreographic composition “Live.” These artistic performances were a heartfelt tribute to the defenders and inspired everyone present.
