During the event, lyceum students learned about the history of pysanky and the techniques for creating them.
The workshop was led by Nataliia Karnaukh, Head of the Social and Humanitarian Work Department at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA), Police Lieutenant Colonel. Participants included students from the Dnipro Security-Oriented and National-Patriotic Education Lyceum named after O. Hostishchev under DSUIA. The attendees not only mastered the art of painting pysanky but also infused each creation with their love for the homeland, faith in victory, and gratitude to those fighting for it. Pysanka-making became more than an art form—it served as a type of art therapy. Such creative activities help reduce anxiety, restore emotional balance, and foster creativity, which is crucial during wartime.
Some of the created pysanky were gifted to military veterans during a recent table tennis tournament at DSUIA. Additionally, the workshop marked the launch of a patriotic creative club at DSUIA. Organizers are confident that promoting national traditions is another front in the fight for Ukraine’s identity, resilience, and spiritual strength.
