The meeting was conducted by the practical psychologist of the educational institution Nataliia SHYNKARENKO.

Pupils of the Dnipro Lyceum of Security Orientation and National-Patriotic Education named after Oleksandr Hostishchev of the MIA took part in the event.

The meeting was organized on the day of the fourth anniversary of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation with the aim of honoring the memory of the fallen Heroes who gave their lives for Ukraine, supporting the emotional resilience of the lyceum pupils and creating a safe space for experiencing feelings, developing empathy, awareness of the significance of one’s own identity and national unity, etc.
Participants of the event applied a simple self-regulation technique through sensory work with wax: according to specialists, such tools allow one to feel the unity and support of the team, which is important for the psychological well-being of the lyceum pupils.

The lyceum pupils created their own symbolic candles as a sign of gratitude to the Heroes and a reminder of the value of life. Through creativity, silence and light, the pupils touched upon the theme of memory and resilience, learned to better understand themselves and support others.

According to the organizers, the “Candle of Memory” event helped learn to safely experience emotions and talk about difficult feelings in a constructive way and became an important part of national-patriotic and psychological education at the lyceum.
