Easter Basket and Pysanka Crafting: Dnipro Ministry of Internal Affairs Lyceum Students Honor Easter Traditions
On the eve of Easter, students of the Dnipro Ministry of Internal Affairs Lyceum prepared a traditional Easter basket.
The event was initiated by Anna Dziuba, Senior Educator of the Dnipro Security-Oriented and National-Patriotic Education Lyceum named after O. Hostishchev at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA), Police Lieutenant Colonel.
During a roundtable discussion, participants reflected on the spiritual essence and profound significance of Christ’s Resurrection, which Ukrainians will celebrate on April 20 this year. They discussed Easter traditions, from blessing baskets to exchanging painted eggs and heartfelt greetings. Special attention was given to properly assembling the Easter basket with traditional foods rich in symbolism and the essential Easter towel.
Each participant shared family stories, memories, unique Easter bread recipes, and interesting folk customs. The lively tradition of "egg tapping" sparked particular interest, still alive in many families.
In conclusion, the lyceum students assembled a symbolic Easter basket and lit a candle, passed from hand to hand as a sign of shared faith in a bright future. At that moment, all were united by a single heartfelt wish—Victory and Peace for Ukraine.
Additionally, the students participated in the festive "Easter Pysanky" contest. Each platoon worked on painting eggs alongside their class advisors, with the event held as part of the educational program "Technologies – Project Activities." This initiative brought the lyceum students together in a relaxed creative atmosphere, engaging young people in learning and preserving Ukrainian folk traditions.

Over the course of three days, a volleyball championship was held among lyceums focused on security and national-patriotic education, as well as the Military Lyceum of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
