Two-day intensive training at the National Academy of Internal Affairs for psychologists and educators of security-oriented and national-patriotic education lyceums
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, in collaboration with the NGO "Gen.Ukrainian," organized and conducted a two-day intensive training at the National Academy of Internal Affairs for psychologists and educators of security-oriented and national-patriotic education lyceums, as well as practical psychologists from higher education institutions under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The event was attended by Inna Yashchuk, State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs; Oleksandr Tarasenko, Director of the Department of Education, Science, and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Police Captain; Ruslan Serbyn, Rector of the National Academy of Internal Affairs and Police Colonel; Oksana Lebedeva, Chair of the NGO "Gen.Ukrainian"; 30 representatives from Ministry of Internal Affairs educational institutions; and 7 psychologist-lecturers.
The Dnipro Security-Oriented and National-Patriotic Education Lyceum named after O. Hostishchev was represented by Andrii Kyiko, Deputy Director for Educational Work and Senior Lieutenant; lyceum educators; and psychologist Nataliia Shynkarenko.
The main goal of the intensive was to master methods of psychological assistance for children, particularly those from military families with traumatic experiences. Participants discussed critical topics: coping with childhood loss and grief, the specifics of experiencing ambiguous loss, children’s rights during wartime, the need to create a trauma-sensitive environment, and ways to restore a holistic perception of life after trauma.
"Our task is to raise a new generation of patriots who will continue the noble work of their heroic parents, defending and rebuilding Ukraine. This requires a carefully tailored, individual approach to each child. To achieve this, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and 'Gen.Ukrainian' are implementing a comprehensive adolescent support program, particularly in security-oriented and national-patriotic education lyceums under the Ministry," noted Inna Yashchuk.
The knowledge gained will be applied in practice when working with lyceum students and in the educational process.
Upon completion of the intensive, all participants received certificates.
As part of the signed Memorandum of Cooperation between DSUIA and the Junior Academy of Sciences, the first meeting of the Historical Discussion Club took place on the topic: "Ukrainian Armed Formations of 1917-1921."
A career orientation event was organized to familiarize prospective applicants with the current admission conditions, living arrangements, and the specifics of studying at the Dnipro Lyceum of Security Orientation and National-Patriotic Education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after O. Hostishchev.
