«Unpunished crimes of the 20th century»: integrated lesson at the Dnipro Lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after O. Hostishchev

The event was held within the framework of the subjects “History of Ukraine” and “Jurisprudence”.

During the event, pupils of the Dnipro Lyceum of Security Orientation and National-Patriotic Education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after O. Hostishchev deeply studied the events of the history of Ukraine, revealed the preconditions of totalitarian regimes, and also drew historical parallels that give understanding of the events of the present.

Through the analysis of document fragments, pupils made conclusions about the crimes of the communist regime and determined what lessons modern Ukraine should learn. Issues of red terror, policy of war communism, repressions, Holodomor, arrests and exile of the Ukrainian intelligentsia, Russification, forced deportations, etc. were raised.

The general conclusion was that for modern Ukraine it is important to remember all the crimes of the totalitarian regime.
