The event was introduced by Kyrylo NEDRIA, director of the Dnipro Lyceum for Security and National-Patriotic Education under the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Lilia HYRENKO, head of the Department of Culture and Sports of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, opened the presentation of an element of intangible cultural heritage. She is also the head of an NGO accredited by UNESCO for advisory support and holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration.

The event was attended by Larisa NALYVAYKO, assistant rector on gender issues, Doctor of Law, professor, and Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, and Dyna MIFTAKHUDINOVA, Olympic silver medalist in rowing, director of the School of Higher Sports Mastery, Ph.D. in Physical Education and Sport, and Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine.

The workshop was led by Marina HOLOVKO, a folk artist from the National Union of Folk Art Masters of Ukraine, a member of the Art Fund, and an instructor of specialized disciplines. The artist highlighted that in 2013 UNESCO included Petrykivka painting in the list of intangible cultural heritage, promoting its recognition worldwide as a symbol of Ukrainian cultural identity. This art form is distinguished by vivid colors, smooth lines, and patterns depicting floral and imaginative motifs, including flowers, leaves, berries, and birds. Specialized brushes made from cat hair or finger painting techniques create unique strokes and details.

During the creative process, participants immersed themselves in Ukrainian culture, history, and traditions, making the workshop both engaging and educational. The lyceum students practiced techniques in decorative art, learned the basics of Petrykivka patterns, and created their own compositions. At the end of the workshop, each participant took home their self-made artwork.
