Students of the Dnipro Lyceum of Security and National-Patriotic Education named after Oleksandr Hostishchev took photos with items traditionally associated with childhood.

A ball, a book, a jump rope, chess, paper airplanes, and a kite — each of these objects became a symbol of children’s dreams, interests, and carefree moments that will never come true for the children whose lives were taken by the war.

A special element of the photo project was a kite to which the students attached symbolic figures with the names of deceased children. Each lyceum student personally wrote the name of a child, honoring their memory and reminding others of the price Ukraine pays for its freedom.

Senior educator of the lyceum Anna DZIUBA noted that the memory of children who became victims of the war cannot be limited to calendar dates.
“This project is intended to remind us that behind every statistical figure there is a child’s life, dreams, interests, and a future that never came. Through simple and understandable symbols of childhood, we aimed to help students realize the value of human life and the importance of preserving the memory of innocent victims of the war,” Anna DZIUBA emphasized.
The photo project became another expression of respect for the youngest Ukrainians whose lives were taken by Russian aggression, and a reminder of the need to preserve the memory of every child who never managed to fulfill their dreams.
